Britannia Shipyards

Britannia Shipyards is one of the last surviving shipyard communities in BC.  We discovered how Britannia's cannery had to quit operating due to an ecological disaster on the Fraser River. The grade 2 students saw  how the people lived and worked 100 years ago, along the Fraser River.  Then....the best part...building a gill-netter wooden boat to take home.  Once back at school, the students made captain hats.  It was a fabulous day.  We were blessed with sunshine and helpful parents.
