2B Visits Britannia Shipyards in Steveston

2B visited historic Steveston, the oldest shipyard community in BC.  About 100 years ago this community was busy building boats and canning salmon.  There were many different groups of people who made up this community.  Men and women from Japanese, Chinese, Musqueam and European cultures worked in the community.  We ended our field trip by building a fishing boat.  Building a fishing boat in the same building as a Japanese boat builder was very exciting.  Some of Mr. Murakami's original wood-working tools were hanging up on the walls.  We loved historic Steveston.  Watch the video of our field trip to the Britannia Shipyards!!!
